Visit by Delegation from the School of Nursing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
On 25 October 2024, Professor Janelle Yorke, Dean of the School of Nursing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, led a delegation to visit Fudan University’s School of Nursing. Professor Hu Yan, Dean of the Fudan University School of Nursing, hosted the delegation, which included Associate Professor Lin Yang, Associate Professor Eva Ho, and Assistant Professor Yan Li from the School of Nursing at PolyU, along with Professor Yuan Changrong, Associate Professor Zhu Zheng, Lecturer Wu Fulei, Foreign Affairs Secretary Ms. Fan Jinyun, and PhD candidate Ms. Zong Xuqian from Fudan.
On behalf of the school, Dean Hu Yan extended a warm welcome to Dean Janelle Yorke and her delegation. Both parties introduced their respective institutions and research focuses, followed by a lively discussion on nursing research collaboration and student exchange opportunities.
In the afternoon, Professor Janelle Yorke delivered an academic lecture titled “Implementing ePROMs into Routine Oncology Care” to the faculty and students of Fudan University’s School of Nursing. Professor Yorke shared insights on how major cancer hospitals are integrating patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) into standardised practices in routine oncology care. This included applications across 30 disease categories and treatment pathways, patient and clinician experiences, and preliminary outcomes in improving patient management. Students and faculty engaged in an enthusiastic exchange and interaction with Professor Yorke.
Through this exchange, our school also explored potential areas for collaboration with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Nursing in evidence-based nursing, patient-reported outcomes, chronic disease management, and other fields. We look forward to jointly undertaking research projects, enhancing academic exchange, advancing nursing education quality, and promoting the development of the nursing discipline.
