1995年毕业于复旦大学上海医学院获临床医学博士学位
2002年毕业于加州大学旧金山分校(UCSF)获博士后
教学及科研情况
作为第一作者或通讯作者在欧美及国内重要医学学术刊物上发表文章40余篇,在国际权威血管外科杂志JVS上首次报道颈动脉硬化斑块的“双腔症”。参加《实用外科学》等多部专著的编写工作,每年在国内外重要的血管外科学术会议上担任大会、分会主席并发表学术演讲。1996年起余波教授作为第一负责人先后获得国家自然科学基金、国家教育部基金、上海市科委重点基础项目,上海市浦东新区卫生系统领先人才等项目及基金资助,先后以第一完成人获得浦东新区科技进步奖和上海市医学科技奖。

现任复旦大学附属浦东医院院长。
兼任国家卫计委脑卒中防治工程委员会缺血性脑卒中外科专业委员会副主委、国家卫计委脑卒中防治工程委员会中青年专家委员会常务委员、中国研究型医院学会品质管理分会副会长、中国医院品质管理联盟副主席、中国质量协会医疗与健康分会副会长、中国医师协会血管外科医师分会第一届委员会常委、上海市医学会血管外科专科分会主任委员、上海市医院协会副会长、上海市医学会理事、上海市医师协会理事。
